Internet marketers are seeing their rankings drop or disappear overnight as Google continues their Panda Updates. I personally have not had a problem because I've always focused on providing quality unique content on my sites.

But think about this. What if you had all your eggs in one basket and had developed a website that was several thousand pages deep. This was your only source of income.

Last night you went to bed, and today you woke up and noticed that your incoming traffic was down dramatically. You begin to take a look at some of the top keywords you ranked for and find your website is nowhere to be found.

Could your Internet business with stand such a thing?

There's nothing wrong with developing large content websites. The key thing is to target unique longtail keyword phrases and build as many webpages as you can around them.

If all your traffic relies on 1 very popular keyword, and you lose your rankings for it, you're pretty much sunk. If you have a website with hundreds or thousands of unique webpages you can withstand a few dropping off at any given time.

Another important thing to do is make money in more than one way. This actually makes sense because some of the tried and proven ways of making money still work, while new ones pop up all the time.

For example mobile marketing is very big. I get emails every day about how to make money creating apps for mobile marketing.

Writing continues to be a good way to make money, but it is changing as well. For example, writing ebooks and selling them on Amazon Kindle is making some people a lot of money.

Article marketing still works, but as an income stream you have to change your approach to it as well. Writing longer quality content articles is good not only for your own blog, but a great way to make money working with other Internet marketers.

I'm not a big fan of social networking, but I do know the importance of being on board with as many different types of social media as possible. This means driving traffic to your website through blogging, You Tube videos, and social networking on Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, and other social sites.

Search engine optimization continues to be important and you should base a considerable amount of your content around targeted keyword phrases relating to your niche. The difference now is you should work at finding less competitive micro-niches to get into. This is a good way to make money faster.

Internet marketing is still a lot of fun and profitable if you approach it correctly. However, you must diversify the business models you use to make money online, and the marketing approaches you take with them.
